First step over the threshold

My mother-in-law tried to be up on New Year’s Day before anyone else.  She was eager to take the first step over the threshold into a new year.  I feel a bit like that as I begin this first blog on the new Berkana Collaborative website.

We’re not yet really “open for business.”  Several of us are working getting the site ready to welcome people.  I’m personally excited.  For months now I have looked forward to having a website where those of us working explicitly with the values, principles and beliefs of  The Berkana Institute could share ideas, deepening our understanding of how to be of service now.  I hope it will evolve into a dynamic site where those of us who are members of the Collaborative are interacting with each other, the people we are working with, and others who come to learn with us as well.

I’m not sure how this will all unfold.  But, then, one of our principles at Berkana is to embrace uncertainty rather than run away from it.  Many of us who are part of the Collaborative have or are developing our own blogs and websites.  I expect there to be some weaving back and forth between those sites where we are sharing and perusing our particular interests and what’s cooking here on the Berkana Collaborative site.  Please come visit me at www.resilientcommunities.org and visit Chris Corrigan at www.chriscorrigan.com.

It feels really good to be stepping through this door…
